Doctoral Competition

“We are incredibly proud of our Vanier scholars and the remarkable contributions they are making in their fields,” said Dr. Debby Burshtyn (PhD), dean of the College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. “USask is very fortunate to attract these research leaders to our graduate programs.”

Centrally Funded Programs

Students entering a USask doctoral program typically receive a minimum stipend guarantee from their home academic unit. During the last three years, average annual funding from all sources for doctoral students was approx. $24,000/year.

Doctoral students who have applied for a Tri-Agency and were forwarded to the national competition but were not awarded federally are automatically considered for one of the ten available Dean's Doctoral Scholarships.
