Dr. Andrea Escalante Herrera MSc, PhD, DDS
Director of Member RelationsAndrea Escalante Herrera, DDS, MSc, PhD, is a dentist and periodontist with expertise in the interconnections between oral and systemic health. She completed her PhD at the University of Saskatchewan, and her postdoctoral research advanced work at the intersection of oral health, environmental exposures, and community-driven wellness, particularly in Indigenous contexts. She has received multiple recognitions for research and teaching excellence, including the Provost’s Graduate Student Teacher Award and Best Oral Presentation at the One Health Symposium. As Director of Member Relations for the SPS Executive Team, she is committed to strengthening member engagement, fostering strategic collaboration, and cultivating an inclusive and connected professional community.
